Contraception

We have several different options available to our patients depending on their desired needs and health history. Contraception can be categorized by hormonal, non-hormonal, barrier, emergency, surgical sterilization, and injectable. Hormonal options include pills, patches, vaginal rings, injection, and intrauterine devices. Non-hormonal options include copper intrauterine device, natural family planning, and withdrawal. Condoms are the most commonly used barrier method on the market. Emergency contraception is utilized within 72-120 hours after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy.
